The Last Will and Testament of Eleanor Meek of Boston Township Wayne County, Indiana.
In the name of God Amen, I Eleanor Meek of Boston Township in the state of Indiana being advanced in years and feeling the uncertainty of life and the uncertainty of the enjoyment of our mental faculties which by the blessing of God I yet enjoy and being anxious that my settled wishes in regard to my property should be carried out after my decease, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at this time heretofore made.
First, I direct that my body be decently interred and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life, And as to such worldly estate as it has pleased God to entrust me with I dispose of the same in the following manner to wit: I direct first that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible, out of the first money that shall come to the hands of my executors from any portion of my estate, - 2nd I give and bequeath unto my esteemed friend and grandson Alexander Grimes Ten acres of land which descended to me by virtue of the last Will and Testament of my dear husband Jacob Meek dec’d., and situated on the East side, along the North and South line of the Twenty acres formerly bequeathed by the said Jacob Meek to Effie Grimes, to have and to hold the same to him his heirs and assign forever. I also give and bequeath all of my personal property of whatsoever kind and nature that shall belong to me at my decease to the said Alexander Grimes,
I constitute and appoint my esteemed friend and grandson Alexander Grimes to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of September A.D. 1842
Rec’d., sealed and published by said Testatrix as her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and at her request have subscribed as witnesses,

Wayne County} Personally came into open court Isaac Mellender of lawful age who being duly sworn in oath that he is one of the witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Eleanor Meek deceased. That the said Testatrix was at the time of executing the same of full age to make such devise and of sound mind and memory and not under coercion or restraint. And that he declares the same to be her last will and testament in the presence of this officer and the other witness Isaac Craig.
