In the name of God amen. I John Meek of the county of Henry and state of Kentucky being weak in body yet of a sound memory and perfect understanding do hereby constitute and make this my last will and testament. And I do desire that it may be received by all as such. And first I humbly bequeath my soul to God that it and as for my burial I desire that it may be done in a decent christian like manner. 2nd and as to my worldly estate I do desire and positively order that all my lawful debts be first paid out of my personal estate. 3rd I do will and bequeath unto my son Basel the hundred acres of land he lives on. And to my son John the hundred acres of land he lives on. And to my son Jeremiah the hundred acres of land he lives on. And to my son Josh the hundred acres of land I now live on. And the remaining part of my personal estate I humbly bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Margaret during her life. And at her death to be divided amoung my daughters Sarah Terah Patience Rachal Tempy. And I do desire and positively order when I am laid in the grave that the negro man known by the name of Spencer shall he be deemed a free man from my heirs or any other claiming him under me. And I do hereby constitute and appoint her said Margaret and Jacob Meek Executors of this my last will and testiment. and I do hereby disallow and utterly disallow all and every

other former will and testiment agencies ---- ---- and excuted by me in any way heretofore and before this time named or mentioned willed or bequeathed. Ratifying and confirming this and only no other to be my last will and testiment. In witness whereof I have set my hand affixed my seal this second day of May one thousand eight hundred and one.

Henry County December Court 1803. The foregoing last will and testiment of John Meek deceased was presented to court proved by the oath of Samuel McKinley and Harman Worm two of the subscribing witnesses there to be the act and deed of the said decedent and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Margaret Meek the executrix therein named she having taken the oath required by law together with Samuel McKinley and Jeremiah Meek her securities entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of one thousand dollors conditioned as the law requires certificate is granted her in due form.
