Also listed is Francis Meek age 11 and Nancy and Rachel Bowers. The third child, Nathan Bowers, was listed in the 1860 census with Thomas Meek. Thomas Meek, son of Nathan, is listed in the 1870 census of Salem TWP also with a daughter named Francis, age 11.

We feel sad to chrinicle the death of Amelia Meek, who departed this life February 9, 1887. Deceased was born in Guernsey County, Ohio on June 17, 1819 on the farm now owned by Nathan Spencer, her only surviving brother; was married to Josiah Bower, December 11, 1845. From this union were three children: Nathan S., Nancy J., and Rachel A., all of which are living. At the end of almost twelve years of happy life her husband died July 18, 1857. Again she married in 1859 to Thomas Meek; death again deprived her of a husband, March 25, 1864, leaving one child, Francis L., who is living yet.
