He married Leta Robinson in 1914. Thomas worked for Southern Railroad. Leta was a teacher. They were listed in the 1920 census of Knox Co., TN living next to his father. They were listed in the 1930 census of Madison Co., TN.

M. age 4, David W. age 2 and Mary E. age 1. "He was a prominent lawyer for a time in Jefferson County, and popular, notwithstanding he was a Republican inpolitics."
