1. John Meek(s) was born between 1790 and 1800. He was listed in the 1830 census of Casey Co., KY (3-1-0-0-0-1///1-0-2-0-0-1) as John Meek. He was listed in the 1840 census of Casey Co., KY (0-1-1-3-0-0-1///1-1-1-0-2) as John Meeks. It is not clear if his wife survived to 1840 as the two oldest females age 20 to 30 are likely daughters. The census suggests he had five sons and five daughters before 1840. In addition to #11 John C. Meeks below William R. Meeks had census notations indicating he was born in Casey Co., KY about 1825.

Also in later records was Isaac Meeks born about 1844.

In the 1850 census Jackson Meek age 15 and Isaac Meek age 6 are listed with Jesse Smith age 27 and Amanda Smith age 46. Amanda cannot be ruled out as the widow of John Meek #1 above. In the 1870 census Jesse Smith and Amanda are listed living next to Delia and the children of James Meek born about 1824.
