1. Robert Meek came from Edinburg, Scottland. He went on to Cumberland Cnty, PA. The name Robert Meek of Hopewell, (a member of the militia in 1748) is mentioned in the History of Cumberland Co., PA (Chap. 5, page 33).

  • 2. George Meek. was born in 1741 in MD. He died on 10 Jan 1801 in Centre Co., Ferguson Twp., PA. Served in Revolutionary War, 5th Battalion, PA. 1778-1781, surveyor, Juanita Co., PA. After marriage moved to Centre Co., PA and on Jan. 21, 1790, took up a 1,000 acre tract of land, some of which still belongs to his descendants (1962). He married Rachel Herron before 1770.
    • 10. Robert Meek was born 1770 in Cumberland Co., PA. He died 2 Aug 1827.
    • 11. David Meek was born in 1773 in Cumberland Co., PA. He married Mary Bailey.

    • 12. William Meek was born 1773. He died 1806 in Huntingdon Co., PA.
    • 13. John Meek was born 1775 in 1773 in Cumberland Co., PA. Moved with brother David to Clarion Co., PA, where their father owned land; later moved down the Ohio River, settling somewhere in OH.
    • 14. Mary Meek was born 28 Jan 1767 in Hopewell TWP, Cumberland Co., PA. She married Gabriel Steely.
    • 15. Isabella Meek was born about 1777 in Cumberland Co., PA. She married Abel Benton.
    • 16. Jane Meek was born in 1779 in Cumberland Co., PA. She died in 1859.
    • 17. Sarah Meek was born 1789 in Center Co., PA. She married Capt. Thomas Holt.
