1. Robert Meek was born about 1732. The year of his birth is disputed in other genealogies. There is no evidence concerning his date and place of birth dispite many genealogies that claim to know this information. There is no evidence that was a son of John Alexander Meek.

He came to America before the Revolutionary War, in which he served. He was appointed Constable in Ohio Co., VA in 1789. He lived in Brooks Co., VA in 1797. He died 13 Nov 1786 in Washington Co., PA. However, this is not verified.

He married Elizabeth Alexander. Robert Meek and Elizabeth Alexander had the following children:

  • 13. Adam Meek was born on 2 Apr 1784 in PA. Melton P. Meek lists William and Adam as twins.

  • 15. Robert Meek
  • 16. Jane Meek married Thomas Maxwell in West Nottingham, Chester, PA. He was born between 1760 and 1770. He died on 1 Apr 1832 in Harrison Co., OH. Will Book A, p. 294, Harrison Co., OH: Last Will and Testament bequeaths "to wife, Jane Meek, all monies and properties I how have in possession and also a certain legacy bequeathed to me by my brother, Walter Maxwell, of Washington Co., State of PA." Dated 1-9-1832, probated 25 Apr 1832.
