He is listed in the 1870 census of Tuscarawas Co., OH, Washington TWP.

He is listed in the 1880 census of Tuscarawas Co., OH, Washington TWP. His parents are listed as being born in Pennsylvania.

He married Mary Gray according to her daughter's death certificate.. She was born in 1799 in Virginia according to her death records. She died on 5 Nov 1869 in Tuscarawas Co., OH.

It is not proven that the person in each of the listed censuses is the same person. The children listed are based on the 1840 and 1850 censuses.

In the 1870 and 1880 census she is also with her father listed as a widow Mary Nihart. She married Feltic Newhart according to daughter's death certificate. She may be the person Mary Newhart listed in the 1910 census living with Jonathan Morris and her daughter Julia Ann.
128. Julia Ann Newhart was born 5 May 1851 in Ohio according to her death certificate. She died 24 May 1933 in Tuscarawas Co., OH. (Vol 7223, Cert No. 30924.) She married (1) George W. Johnson 26 Feb 1874 in Tuscarawas Co., OH (Vol III, Book 7, Page 120). She is listed with Nathan Meeks in the 1880 census as a widow with the surname Johnson with two children. She married (2) Jonathan Morris 28 Oct 1880 in Tuscarawas County. He was the son of Joseph L. Johnston and Zenith Gray. They are listed in the 1910 census of Tuscarawas County. Also listed is Mary Newhart 76 Ohio 1834 (2 children).
201. Joseph Heflin Johnson was born about 1873.
202. Margaret Matilda Johnson was born about 1875.
Note: In 1870 census of Salem TWP living with Thomas Meek b: 1824 was Joseph Johnson b: about 1851.
