Simeon married (2) Amanda Melvina Roberts. She was born about 1832 in Arkansas. She was the daughter of Aaron Roberts and Sally Tart and the and granddaughter of John Roberts and Rachel Robinette for whom Jacob Meek was bondsmen at their marriage in Blount Co., TN in 1796. Amanda married (2) Harrison Loomis. Amanda filed for a civil war pension based on Simeon’s service – as Amanda Meek in 1865. In 1870 she filed for pension benefits for their son – identified as A Loomis. Census records identify him correctly as Aaron Meek. Andrew Meek is not mentioned and presumed died young. Research by Barbara Ristow. She was listed in the 1880 census of San Saba Co., TX with her step son James Meek.
