He listed the children as grand children of Matthew Meek but does not name John Alexander as the son of Matthew and father of the children. The author's primary focus was Jacob, brother of Matthew, and his 16 children. It is known today that H. B. Meek combined several unrelated family to come up with Jacob's 16 children. Therefore, one should use caution with this genealogy.
A better known book was published 60 years later. Meek Genealogy, 1962, By Carleton Meek named John Alexander Meek as the son of Matthew and father of the children listed below. However, it is known that Carleton Meek copies H. B. Meek although he added additional names. It is not known what the sources were for either author.
